Hi! This site has just been updated, as all you Nature fans might have noticed. This site will again be updated anywhere between the end of December, and mid-January. I'd like to wish all the members of the Nature Club a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Special greetings go out to Stephen and Jackie, how are you enjoying your new house? This month's Creature Feature animal is the koala. Koalas look a little like teddy bears with their round furry ears, and round furry bodies. But, actually, they are not bears at all, they are marsupials, just like kangaroos. This means thast they carry their babies in a pouch. They live in Australia, along with most of the worlds other marsupials. Koalas have very soft fur. They like humans and will cuddle up to you if you hold one. They are also very smart. They spend most of their time in trees, coming down only at night to find food. They are heavy, and a little clumsy, so they move slowly. Koals are not easy to take care of. They eat one unusual thing - eucalyptus leaves. They even get most of their water from these leaves. Eucalyptus leaves are not common everywhere, and the trees are hard to grow. If you don't have eucalyptus trees, a koala cannot survive. Surprisingly, any other animal that tried to eat these leaves would be poisoned. Did you know..... .....that 'koala' is the aborigine word for water? .....that the koala is actually an excellent swimmer? .....that a baby koala is only the size of a lima bean? Hi! This section is dedicated to the one.....the only.......TURBAN MAN! | This is Turban Man ---> @:) Why they call him a man I'm not sure. For a man he is not.....not a boy even....he is just a Turban with a *SMILE*. But not just any Turban with a *SMILE*......he is TURBAN MAN! Turban Man even has a theme song.....to the tune of SpiderMan. It goes like this.... Turban Man! Turban Man! Does whatever a turban can! Is he thin? Is he fat? Look - he's going to eat that cat! Hey there! There goes Turban Man! Turban Man! Turban Man! Goes wherever a turban can! Is he short? Is he tall? He's running naked through the mall! Watch out! Here comes Turban Man! Oh, yeah! Sorry if you were expecting a section on camping like I said last month but this just couldn't wait! Do not steal Turban Man.
